Re: Mattress?
Sun, September 27, 2009 - 9:20 PMWe've put a pillow top on ours, which works reasonably well. They've also got the tempurpedic top you can put on your normal mattress, some people swear by this. Both are cheaper than buying a mattress. This is where I'd start, then move to the more expensive options if they don't work. Good luck on your hunt, I'll keep my eyes open for you. -

Re: Mattress?
Sun, September 27, 2009 - 9:23 PMI just realized you said firm, and my suggestions aren't worth beans. Depending on how firm, you might want to check out futons. My father-in-law prefers a firm mattress, so he sleeps on a foldaway with a piece of plywood under the relatively thin mattress. -

Re: Mattress?
Tue, September 29, 2009 - 4:31 PMAfter my surgery, I could not even get comfy on my tempurpedic bed anymore, I had to trade it for a new Beauty Rest mattress with individually wrapped coils. In the hospital twice, I had an air mattress that was a couple inches thick kept inflated by a continuous air pump - I want one of those for home. It was comfy. -

Re: Mattress?
Tue, September 29, 2009 - 4:38 PMpersonally, i find the "sealy posturpedic" perfectly satisfying, after many years in a painful bed. but, i guess it depends on so much - you know depending on what you need for what ails ya.
